Vote for the New Logo/Identity for The Christian Dollar!

by John Frainee on December 5, 2012

We’re jazzing it up over here at The Christian Dollar, and it’s time for a new identity! A cousin of mine does excellent graphic arts work and came up with a few potential logos and icons for The Christian Dollar.

Now I need your help!

Please take a moment and look over the options below. Then, leave a comment and let us know your favorite! If you’re torn between a couple or a few, let us know that too. You can even explain WHY you like one over another.

Thank you for your time! It’s much appreciated!

Update Clarification: The black and white versions are made just as a part of the process. The logo we choose will be in color! Also, add a few comments about the icons as well if you like!

So what’ll it be? Option A, B, C, D, or E? Leave a comment and thank you for your valuable input! We’ll definitely consider your advice in making our decision.

I’m going to have to go with “B” John. “D” is a close second but I like the clean lines of “B” better. Also, if it matters, I like the color version better than the black and white. It gives it a bit of POP.

  2. I’d go with A or D

  3. Hey hey hey….nice options! I like the color versions of A & B, though B is my favorite.

  4. A.

  5. D is my favorite! Second choice would be A. I very much like the color versions over the black and white.

  6. Just a clarification for everyone, the choice we pick will definitely be in color. The logos are first done in black and white because it’s an important part of the process.

  7. I like A or D (I think I like D slightly more, but I keep going back and forth on it). It’s hard to choose a logo, I’m excited to see the finished result!

    I <3 D!!!!!!! =D

  9. I like A or E! They focus on the money, without making it all about money. :-)

  10. A – I like the clean look.

  12. Yay! I vote for A :)

    Hi there!
I’m torn between A and D. Maybe leaning ever so slightly towards A at the moment.
    Keep the great info coming!

    Hi John,

You have labored much on this ministry of the Christian Dollar. You and your contributing writers have provided valuble insight. I would urge you not to crown these efforts with a such a man centered symbol as the $ sign. I see this sign as a conflict to your ministry. For this reason I would vote for D without the $ sign. Do not use the $ unless you fully understand the origins of the $ sign.

  16. Kent, where do you believe it originates from? I’ve read that there are numerous theories, but nobody knows the true origin.

  17. Use E but extend the vertical line up more and make it a cross.

d because Christian is more promient than the dollar I prefer the color one
maybe move the $ dollar sign

  19. Kind of like A and E. Guess I’d choose A just because E would be the Christian cent.

I like option A and Option E, They represent what your about without making it about the money. Both logos are subtle but express that your company/blog looks at using money within the confines of Christian values. If i had to pick one of these two i might choose option E but thats because i like the subtle look. Its not about the money it about being a Christian who know how to handle their money.
All the best in choosing your new logo.

  21. Option A is my first choice. It is easy on the eyes, reflects the appropriate color of your subject matter and lends toward a contemporary style. Nice artwork!

  22. I actually prefer E best… and agree with Bev above. I was hoping to see a cross in one of them… :(

  23. I like E. Second choice is D.

  24. Carla, that’s a good idea about a cross. Hmmm… Still working through this and prayerfully considering all options.

I just found your blog, thus the lateness of my opinion on your logo. It appears you may have already chosen, but I thought I’d leave my 2-cents anyway….
I prefer A. The logo of a “C” surrounding the dollar sign just looks like it stands for “Christian Dollar.” It’s clean, simple, and to-the-point.
I don’t like E because it looks like “Christian Cents,” not that that would be a bad name for a blog such as yours, but you already have a name.
I don’t care for B, C, or D because they look to cartoonish and not serious enough for a topic such as what is covered here. B particularly reminds me of a bag of money stolen by a wild west cartoon character.
Just my opinion. Thank you for sharing your wisdom on this blog.

  26. Hey Robyn! Thanks for your input and for joining us over here at TCD! I’m glad you think I made the right choice! :D
