For the Times You Feel Rushed
Have you ever seen a person who is rushed? Sure you have. A hurried person who doesn’t think about what they’re doing usually trips up and makes one too many mistakes. I think we’ve all messed up because we felt rushed. What should we do instead?
Slow down, right?
Well, I’m becoming more convinced that’s not enough. The correct formula should be: slow down + gain knowledge = doing a much better job.
Consider this Proverb:
Desire without knowledge is not good – how much more will hasty feet miss the way! – Proverbs 19:2 NIV
The Message paraphrases it way:
Ignorant zeal is worthless; haste makes waste. – Proverbs 19:2 MSG
What About You?
Do you find yourself going too fast sometimes? Perhaps you’re forgetting to do a little planning based on research. You’re not alone, I find myself in this position sometimes and realize I should read a few more good books throughout the year.
So, let’s find ways to clear our schedules, slow down a bit, and read a good book. What we put into ourselves we get out, so let’s be zealous – just not ignorant.
What do you want to learn about? Do you find yourself needing to slow down in life? Leave a comment and let me know I’m not alone!
